Learning Environments

Designing a Learning Environment with Technology
SIT - Wheelock, 2016

As part of the Information Technology module, my team and I created the Learning Centre based on the theme of 'Transportation' to highlight the presence of technology and transportation in children's day to day lives.

Integrated Digital Storytelling
SIT - Wheelock, 2016

Also part of the Information Technology module, my team and I revised the original digital story which was previously written by us. This version of 'To the Supermarket' includes a less repetitive story line, accompanied with interactive opportunities to better engage children and test their understanding of the concepts.

Sungei Buloh Activity Plan
SIT - Wheelock, 2016

As part of the Environmental Awareness module, my team and I put together a resource kit to help teachers raise awareness of the importance of wetlands to children. We also wanted to have children show an interest in the world they live in and learn to find out why things happen through investigations. The activity kit also aims to help children develop a positive attitude towards the world.

Raising Awareness of Stress
SIT - Wheelock, 2016

To better understand the effects of divorce on a child's development, the above poster was created, and later accompanied with the parent-child relationship building activities handbook to provide parents with a variety of ideas of what they could do with their children in the limited time that they may have with them. The book, when read in reverse, would also help children to identify their feelings as their parents go through a divorce or have already been divorced.

Social Studies Curriculum
SIT - Wheelock, 2016

As part of the Language Development module, my team and I focused our project on the supermarket, and created a model which aimed to teach children about what and where they could find different items in the respective sections in the supermarket, the jobs of people who work there, as well as what the children could do when they were there. A digital storybook was put together to be used as a teaching aid for teachers as they begin to introduce the supermarket to the children.

An Inclusive Integrated Curriculum
SIT - Wheelock, 2015

In order to understand the importance of play in children's learning, my team and I put together a learning centre based on 'Nature' with the hopes of inculcating a 'Clean-and-Green' spirit in children.
